This is a mare (and foal) rescue - so please keep this in mind when you receive your mare/filly/colt. Pregnant Mare Rescue, Inc. would like to emphasize, the adopter needs to accept that this is an 'as is' situation as we are trying to help rescue the mares/foals from an uncertain future. PMR may not know these mares/fillies/colts prior to arriving at our facility. We do our best to evaluate and rehabilitate every horse prior to adoption Please state the name of the mare/filly/colt you are interested in (in order of preference):
Purchasing party shall assume all responsibility, risk, and liability for the care and control of the horse purchased from the date of purchase forward. It is understood that the purchasing party shall hold Pregnant Mare Rescue, Inc. and all its' officers, directors, and volunteers harmless from any claims of damage, injury, or acts of negligence, howsoever caused, to purchasing party or any other party. Purchasing party agrees that neither he/she nor any successors, assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians or legal representatives will make any claim against, sue, nor attach the property of Pregnant Mare Rescue, Inc., its' officers, directors, or volunteers, for any actions or claims whatsoever arising from this purchase agreement. "Our Umbrella Policy of Protection"
Please read prior to filling out application
PMR takes pride in being a no kill facility. Horses that are rescued thru PMR do not run out of time waiting for a new home, or become candidates for euthanasia simply because they are not riding horses. We will to the best of our ability track every horse for life, ensuring that it stays out of harms way. Under contract we hold first right of refusal and retain the right to approve re-homing. We request updates and ask for cooperation in our follow ups. Any PMR horse is welcome to return to the rescue anytime.
For the potential Adopter , "It is understood that I will provide proper stabling, veterinary care and farrier attention as needed for good health and preventative care. It is also understood that I will not sell to an auction, slaughter buyer, or knowingly allow the horse to end up at the slaughter house. I agree to never breed my horse that was adopted from Pregnant Mare Rescue. I agree that if I adopted a colt from PMR that this colt will be gelded( if it has not already been performed) at my cost. If I am in need or cannot properly care for the horse then I will contact Pregnant Mare Rescue, and if needed, I know that I can always donate the horse to Pregnant Mare Rescue, Inc.." and that no adoption fees will be returned. I agree that if my horse needs to be returned, I am responsible for trailering the horse back to PMR at my cost and will provide all health records for said horse.
If compliance to our contract will be difficult, please stop here.
