Sunny is packing her suitcase and getting ready to head up to Blue Horse Rescue in Healdsburg. Laurie Dearinger, the Founder and President of Blue Horse Rescue provides the utmost in loving care and natural horsemanship training. As Sapphire gets ready to find her forever home, Sunny is welcomed with open arms.
Little Sunny has had quite her share of adventures in her 3 years. It is a very big reminder why it remains so important to track each horse for life. Yes, we just experienced how expensive it can be, but we also continue to acknowledge how critical.
Our rescues will not fall thru the cracks, be forgotten, find themselves in a bad situation or recycled over and over again! So with big hearts and VERY big thanks, we send out our love and appreciation to all that keep us in their hearts and continue to support our efforts~

Look at Lady now. She is adopted into her new home with Summer! Summer says she mimics everything she does...loves to hang out and goof around with her new girl. I am so pleased for Lady~ Her mom on the right (above) Snowflakes went to Oakdale into a non riding home. She spends her days comforting children with challenges. For these girls this was an eleventh hour rescue off the Fallon Feedlot. They avoided the slaughter truck by less than 24 hours! A big thanks goes out to Chris and Yadira who kindly and graciously pastured them, helped gentle them, PAID to feed them and loved them. Yay! A Happy Ending~
December 6th.. It's a good day to make a Difference! Read Below!!
Oh! and share our chip-in on face book..we are almost there!
everyone – Eddie Floyd hosts a local talk show in Reno and has invited
callers for his noon through 2pm show, see below – call in if you have
time and help raise awareness – the NV Dept of Ag should work with wild
horse advocates and not just people who want them removed, they should
work on alternative measures to picking up the horse (relocate them,
modify new housing developments to ensure the horses can’t access busy
streets, educate the public about not feeding the horses, engage in
cooperative agreements with advocates, help educate people who don’t
want horses on their property, enforce Nevada fence out laws), stop
picking up wild horses that are not bothering anyone and not a public
safety issue, stop encouraging people to set up traps on their property
and baiting horses into them, stop putting our horses at risk of
slaughter by taking them to the livestock auction and instead work with
advocates to place horses removed from the range in safe forever homes.
let all those involved know that they can call me LIVE today from noon
till 2 pm regarding the Wild Horse situation in the news.
The following is quite moving and posted as a reminder that we are indeed all connected. We must all spread the knowledge of the importance of kindness and love.
Lawrence Anthony, a legend in
South Africa and author of 3 books including the bestseller The Elephant
Whisperer, bravely rescued wildlife and rehabilitated elephants all over the
globe from human atrocities, including the courageous rescue of Baghdad Zoo animals
during the US invasion in 2003.
On March 7, 2012 Lawrence
He is remembered and missed by
his wife, 2 sons, 2 grandsons, and numerous elephants.
Two days after his passing, the
wild elephants showed up at his home led by two large matriarchs.
Separate wild herds arrived in droves to say goodbye to their beloved
man-friend. A total of 31 elephants had patiently walked over 12 miles to
gather at his South African House.
spectacle, humans were obviously in awe not only because of the
supreme intelligence and precise timing that these elephants sensed about
Lawrence's passing, but also because of the profound memory and emotion the beloved
animals evoked in such an organized way: Walking slowly - for days.
Making their way in a solemn one-by-one queue from their habitat to his house.
So, how after Anthony's death,
did the reserve's elephants - grazing miles away in distant parts of the park -
"A good man died
suddenly," says Rabbi Leila Gal Berner, Ph.D., "and from miles and
miles away, two herds of elephants, sensing that they had lost a beloved human
friend, moved in a solemn, almost funereal-like procession to make a call on
the bereaved family at the deceased man's home."
If there ever were a time, when
we can truly sense the wondrous interconnectedness of all beings, it is when we
reflect on the elephants of Thula Thula.
A man's heart's stops, and
hundreds of elephants' hearts are grieving.
This man's oh-so-abundantly
loving heart, offered healing to these elephants. And now, they came to pay
loving homage to their friend.
Lawrence's wife, Francoise, was
especially touched, knowing that the elephants had not been to his house
prior to that day for well over 3 years!
But yet they knew where they
The elephants obviously wanted
to pay their deep respects, honoring their friend who'd saved their lives - so
much respect that they stayed for 2 days & 2 nights without eating
Then next morning, they left,
beginning their long journey back 'home'.
December 4th..The Holidays are fast approaching! I was chatting with the horses last nite and asking what they'd like for the holiday:) Every single one of them said...I want my own person to love me and bring me home.
We have some wonderful horses in need of homes! Please email me if you are interested in any one of them. They are so sweet and deserving. Our available horses are under the Tab on left

Check out my Cookie Angel!
This little girl saved her pennies and asked for them whenever she
could. She decorated her tin container, and filled it full of her
pennies for PMR. I am so thrilled. She was awesome. We had hot cocoa,
sugar cookies and a fabulous visit with the horses. The rain isn't going
to stop us! She was so awesome!
