The holidays are upon us. Tomorrow begins the celebration of many faiths. The gang, the team here at the rescue are filled with love and so much joy. We have recently placed many horses in wonderful homes. Thank You for the help!
We want to ask if you could do us a favor. Do you now anyone who may want to love on a horse that cannot be ridden? We have one such horse that is a kitten, and another mare that is sweet and lovely, but may have a foot problem. We are waiting to see and hoping for the best.
You can text to 408 540-8568 or email via this site.
The other gift PMR is asking for is a share....... Can you share with someone you know that may enjoy knowing about us? We are expanding our readership and asking for your help!
There is a horse on Watsonville rd. we are looking into. He or she is thin and appears to be old. I personally found this horse and called A/C . I will continue to follow this "case" this little life silently waiting for a warm dry stall, and food "it" can eat.....Please say a prayer for "the little silent one".
Sammy left today ! God Bless little Sammy! We are so excited for him!!!
We are sending love to all of you. We thank you, appreciate the support, and are excited to continue our work into 2017. Over 235 lives saved becuase of you !
With Maria in her new home, River in fostercare with Maria, Sammy's adoption being coordinated and possibly Frank's, we pause to be grateful. We are thankful to get these well deserving horses into wonderful homes. Trixie has found a home, and Abby is under consideration to be accepted into the Parelli foundation for 2 years of training! We are in month 24 of diligently campaigning to place these lovelies, and keep our bills paid.
As many of you know, the watsonville facility is completely dismantled....PGE has removed over 100 very tall Euc's. This is definitley going to be safer, and a plus in the end....But we are not at the end yet :/
The weather is making finishing the project difficult, and we are on hold. AUGHH...We need our ranch back, we need our roundpen back...we need our shelters and paddocks back in place......
and so we pause to be grateful and thankful that yes, indeed...we know how to wait.

The horse symbolizes the crossroad of people.
You can ride a horse by breaking it before
mentally or physically –
as one can do with nature and all beings.
Or you can ride a horse by resigning yourself
to it’s higher order.
This path leads to authentic culture.
Only this is the genuine path of the horse.
This way I am representing and teaching.Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling
Klaus should be studied by anyone who truly loves and wants to work with horses.
PMR is in a very deliberate holding pattern. We are on month 24 of placing horses. No NEW equines in our facilities. AUGHHH ! It kills us, but we have to be responsible. We have to watch our money. We have to be sure to care for those we have already committed to. Sometime events happen, and you just have to breathe and re-adjust. By no fault of their own, horses have come back into the fold. We are diligently putting out ads and info; looking for those great homes for all our horses. But, it takes patience and....time. Yes, and well time means money cause we all have to eat and be taken care of, me , you and our furry friends.
Now our budget is tight..we are scraping by...but that doesnt mean we cannot reach out and create a Christmas Miracle. It felt so wonderful, and as many donors have shared..."Thank you for helping me be able to help them! " See the two pics below. It says it all! Enjoy~
Seems I no sooner get the bills caught up and well, somebody has to act up. Not sure what happened, but with our shanty town set up I'm not surprised. Denna has constructed and reconstructed a dozen times the set up trying to keep our horses dry and SAFE!
PGE finally stated they want to make things right. I am anxious to get our ranch back in order.
Dr. Terry arrived after dark last night, and with portable lighting and great sedation cleaned up our pretty gal.
Somehow Bella managed to get a teeny tiny puncture wound o < that big. But, it hit a teeny tiny vein...and bled, and bled, and bled.....
With pressure patience and good wrapping she's all pretty in pink now. I forgot to bring phone out to take pic, but will upload one later today.
I am still in jammies. Im fundraising for 3 mares, one in foal on the sunnyside lot. I have been patiently going on month 24 now of taking in no new rescues and only adopting out those we have. It's the correct and responsible thing to do.
So I felt it reasonable to make a Christmas Miracle and ask the horse community to step up and save these lives. We all should feel a bit better knowing we have put our hearts in a very important place by stepping up.
