Many months ago I was sited and fined because horses and dogs got loose on my property. They went down the driveway causing a ruckus. I was accused of having my dog kill my neighbors cat and attack their dog. I have no way to know if this has any truth to it. I take responsibility of any misakes the volunteers make with horses being loose. We CANNOT Fence until PGE has finished their work! Because of the scare, we became extra vilgilant and have kept dogs and horses close and carefully watched. I will sleep better when we are back to our ranch and fenced.
So why am I sad? Yesterday we lost sight of my daughters dog.The one accused of killing the cat. My daughter ran down the driveway, worried sick she was out on the loose. Thats when the lovely neighbor appeared. Rather than asking what was wrong, or if he could help...My daughter asked if he had seen the dog. He replied, no but when I do Im calling animal control.....I had been up in the house and found the dog accidentally locked in the laundry room. She had never been loose. THANK GOD! We all were so relieved.
This morning I have a message on my voice mail from ...animal control. They received a complaint that the dog was loose AGAIN, and the horses too! The animal control officer said the photos were not time or date stamped so he cannot make a citation. REALLY? These people are outright lying. I am so sad that people can be so mean hearted.
Do you know that if you have ever been to our ranch, the drive to the back area is a bit of a knoll to get over. Part of the road is on our neighbors property...They drew up a contarct for liability purposes (fine)...and decided to charge us $25 a month to use it. Isn't that nice? (The road owner is a retired surgeon...must be broke right?) We have been serving the community for 11 years, helping horse and DOG owners out whenever possible....and doing it all for free......These neighbors are very mean spirited and selfish. I am seriously considering moving....And so that is why I am sad.
